The Pixel 10 Pro has leaked, and it looks more like a Pixel 9S Pro

A user on Chinese social media platform coolapk has published images of an alleged Google Pixel 10 Pro, showcasing the yet-to-be-released smartphone from a variety of angles (via Mystic Leaks). In these leaked hands-on photos, we see a physical handset design that matches that of its predecessor, the Pixel 9 Pro, to a tee.

Whether we’re talking about the display bezels, the rear-facing triple camera bar, the thermometer sensor, or the antenna configuration, the physical design of this leaked Pixel 10 Pro looks rather identical to the Pixel 9 Pro. There’s only one discernible difference when comparing the two units side by side: the Pixel 10 Pro appears to have two grille cutouts on its bottom edge as opposed to one, which indicates a relocated nano SIM card tray location (or, perhaps, an iPhone-esque embrace of eSIM).

Corroborating these leaked hardware images are photos of the same Pixel 10 Pro with its screen on, displaying diagnostic information from the third-party DevCheck Device & System Info Android application. These photos display a number of key Pixel 10 Pro software and hardware attributes, including supplier, processor core configuration, operating system, and more.

Interestingly, the DevCheck app reports back a Tensor G5 chipset with a 5nm fabrication process, which doesn’t line up with previous rumors and leaks of the processor utilizing a 3nm process. This raises some suspicion as to the accuracy of these new leaked photos, and it’s worth maintaining a healthy dose of skepticism for the time being.

The Pixel 10 Pro will likely trounce its predecessor in compute power

For several months now, rumors have been pointing towards a much-bolstered Tensor processor being worked on by Google for its upcoming Pixel 10 Pro flagship. For the most part, leaks indicate a switch to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s (TSMC’s) high-end 3nm fabrication process in the 10 Pro’s Tensor G5, which might result in better efficiency-per-watt output when compared to the Tensor G4’s 5nm Samsung fabrication process.

With Google only having redesigned the Pixel’s external chassis and design language last year, it’s no surprise that supply chain analysts are anticipating a Pixel 10 Pro that looks and feels remarkably similar to the existing 9 Pro. I’d expect Google to emphasize the boost in compute power this time around, in addition to an emphasis on AI features and experiences. Personally, my Pixel 10 Pro bucket list consists of Qi2 magnet charging, Corning Gorilla Glass Armor, and faster UFS 4.1 flash storage.

In terms of release date, rumors currently indicate an August 13 Made by Google launch event, putting the hardware reveal ahead of Apple’s expected September iPhone 17 series launch. With Android 16 and its Material 3 Expressive redesign expected to reach stability in the not-too-distant future, I’d also expect the Pixel 10 Pro to launch with Android 16 out of the gate.
